All across Golden Wind, we see themes of self-growth and development scattered throughout. They’re embedded in the characters and the story’s progression. As we watch them grow, we feel their pain and struggles. We have our own too - so why not make the journey of self-growth fun? In uniting our beloved characters from Golden Wind with our interest in divination and self-growth, EPITAFFIO was brought to life.

About
EPITAFFIO is an Oracle deck project inspired by JJBA Part 5!What does EPITAFFIO mean? The name of this deck is inspired by King Crimson's ability named 'Epitaph', which allows the user to glimpse into the future, to make a more informed choice of which path to take. (Of course, nobody can truly see the future - we seize our future by being in the present 100%, to bridge the gap to our goals.)Why an Oracle deck? There are recurring themes of self-growth and development in Part 5 and these resonated with us. After looking at different divination methods, we settled on creating an Oracle deck for its freedom and accessibility. We aim for EPITAFFIO to be able to be used on its own, or paired with existing Tarot and Oracle decks seamlessly for guidance.EPITAFFIO will contain messages pertaining to discovering the self, strengthening inner trust, acceptance and release, overcoming adversity, and the importance of being convicted. Doing the inner work will always be tough, but it doesn't always have to be grim. When you inject your passion into the work, the journey becomes much more fun.This is a labour of love by avid followers of the show who wish to share the love we have received. Given that there are others who feel the same way as us, we decided to open up the floor for more contributors to work on this project with us and infuse this deck with more passion :DWhat you can expect from this project:

Vento Aureo, tarot and astrology have been life-changing, helping me through many areas of my life. I found out that esoterical tools can be applied to understanding not only yourself but to characters as well and it’s a great tool for creativity and inspiration. A project like this has been on my mind since 2019, so others can hopefully experience this journey in their own way with the beloved part 5 cast!

I discovered JoJo in 2019, and quickly became infatuated with the series and its characters. Vento Aureo, being the season that was being aired during that time, holds tons of memories and sentiments that are very special to me, and connected me with people that I keep deeply close to my heart. Recently, I started to get interested in astrology, thanks to my friend Teesshu who introduced me to it, and what best way to show how grateful I am to this series and the friends I made with it than by participating in a project like this, a project that, besides, will teach me all sort of things about a spiritual side of the world i didn't know before.

★ Will the project be for-profit or charity?
It will be for-profit.★ Will this be produced digitally or physically?
We want to produce a physical copy of the deck that can be used for divination. We hope to be able to produce the accompany guidebook physically too!★ Will there be other merch besides the Oracle deck?
Yes :) We will be announcing them on our Twitter and Instagram, so keep an eye out!★ How many contributors are you willing to accept?
Around 30-40 writers and artists combined. We are still looking at the final count for both categories.★ Why are you looking for writers as well?
Writers are also an important part of the fandom. In this project, they’ll be providing the artists with the prompts to help create a meaningful card and connect the readee with the spiritual guidance that they seek. As this is an Oracle deck, there are no limits or structures to what message it will carry. So it is imperative that the meaning of the card and its illustrations is relayed accurately.★ What kind of work will writers be doing?
Writers will be creating the interpretations of the cards that will be in the accompanying guidebook. They’ll also be working together with the artists to create the illustration for the cards :)★ What art styles / mediums do you allow?
All digital and traditional art will be accepted. However, please ensure that you’ll be able to submit your traditional art digitally (you’ll need a good quality scanner + maintain the quality of the art piece once digitalised). We haven’t considered 3D art yet.★ Can anyone participate?
You have to be 16 years of age at the time of application.★ Will applicants/participants be “vetted” for their shipping preferences/content outside of the project?
No, we won’t discriminate any submissions based on the ships the applicants enjoy. This project has no romantic-pairing themed cards, since it will be primarily and heavily focused on the individual characters and stands.★ What are the requirements for the writer/artist application?
We will be releasing the detailed list the week before application opens :) Do keep an eye out for the announcement on our social media accounts! (You can visit the rough timeline for this project here.)★ Can I apply as both a writer and an artist?
You may, since the writer and artist application is separate! You will be evaluated based on the portfolio and works you submit for each application.★ Can I make more than one contribution?
Yes, as long as you have commitment to your compromises on the settled deadlines.★ Do I need to know anything about Tarot or divination to participate in this?
No, although it would be beneficial if you have knowledge on it. The staff team will ensure there is enough information for you to work with, otherwise, you can always ask for more. We will be glad to guide you along!★ Will characters outside of Part 5 (like PHF/GHGR) be included?
They will not be included as we would like to keep the character list limited to the canonical cast.

ABOUT THE DECK AND ACCOMPANYING GUIDEBOOK
★ What’s an Oracle deck?
An Oracle deck is a thematic card deck that can provide the readee answers and guidance regarding a certain inquiry among a topic related to the deck.★ What’s the difference between Tarot and Oracle decks?
Tarot decks are traditionally structured, following the typical 78-card count that includes the Major and Minor Arcana along with the Court Cards. Most decks' imagery are derived from the Rider-Waite deck, and mostly share a common theme. Some creators may add in more cards or even use a completely different imagery/symbolism, but you will always find the Arcana + Court cards in it.Oracle decks are more free-flow, with no structure or theme to follow. There are no limitations to the amount of cards a deck can hold too. Ultimately, it is up to the creator's choice.Neither is better than the other, as they both serve different purposes. We aim to create an Oracle deck that can be used on its own or in conjunction with other Tarot decks to guide the reader to what they ask :)★ What’s the deck and guidebook dimensions?
The cards will measure 70x120mm. The guidebook will be A5 size (148x210mm) when closed, in landscape orientation.

OTHER DETAILS
★ Do I need a Discord account?
Yes. We will be using Discord as the primary method of contact to keep in touch with all contributors. You can sign up for a Discord account here. We will occasionally send email updates to keep everyone on the same page.★ Do I need a Paypal account?
Yes, as we will be sending payment via Paypal to all contributors.★ Can I sell artworks I've created in this project later on as my own personal merch?
Artists retain the rights to their artworks to reproduce and sell them after the project is over.★ Can I print the PDF version of the deck and guidebook?
Please refrain from doing so as a show of respect for the artists involved. You may contact the artist to get an official version of the merch :)★ Will contributors get a copy of the final product?
We aim to provide a physical copy of the deck to all contributors if the project is funded successfully. As we are still discussing the size, paper stock and finish of the guidebook, we are unable to promise that all contributors will receive a physical copy of the guidebook, as of this moment. Once we have crunched out the numbers properly, we will update all contributors. :)★ When will the Kickstarter/funding be launched?
For now, we are looking to launch the project to public in March-April 2021. As for crowdfunding, we are still discussing which method would be the most ideal for separating the offerings in this project — either through crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter, or through regular preorder. The results of the interest check will play a role in helping us decide which way will work best for you and us! :)
